I'm still here... a few random thoughts

  • First time ever to work full-time as a mom - learning curve

  • Oldest turned 16 over the weekend

  • EYE June 22-26 - off to Minneapolis/St Paul

  • Feel VERY CONSPICUOUS wearing collar

  • Collar makes me a better driver so far

  • First hospital call on a parishioner tomorrow

  • Have been putting younger son in wrong (older) age group for tennis tournaments - fail

  • You?

Wearing the collare feels so conspicuous at first, then one forgets that it is one...and when that happens one needs to be very careful in traffic (no impatient hand gestures...) or other things one might be inclined to do when

My week is busy with meetings with parishioners in my new's good.

The collar is a good preventer of road rage. I accidently cut someone off, my bad. She was getting ready to flip me the bird and when she saw the collar her hand went down.

What's fun is grocery shopping wearing the collar. Talk about the parting of the red sea in the crowded aisles.

Sounds like your week is resembling mine...

The collar means some very interesting conversations sometimes, and yes, it has prevented me from doing some bad stuff in traffic on occasion. I should think that it would get me out of a speeding ticket when I was going to a dying parishioner's bedside, but the sweet young police officer wasn't buying it. Now I don't drive fast unless I or someone in my vehicle is actually bleeding out...

blessings, EG, and welcome to the world of wearing a bandsaw around your neck in the summer heat!

God_Guurrlll is absolutely right about the grocery-store encounters...I literally bumped into a little Filipino lady -- she looked up, shrieked, and curtsied...still processing that one.
