I just do not know what to think. The guy in the big hat does not want me yet will not release me either... At the very least I'll be in the Diocese next door as a worshipper - I cannot go back to any church in his. Not right now at least. And that's the least of my worries right now.

I must say that I find some comfort (and frustration) in knowing that this has nothing to do with hearing the voice of God.

Even though I was once in that system (a long, long time ago, in a diocese far, far away), I don't know the answer to this: Is there any appeal up the Big-Hatted-Food CHain? Like to the HOB's?

Have followed your journey through social worker, and we even tried to get together when I was working in Lewisville, but never could manage it. Can't believe your news. Can't say what I'm really thinking! My parish in Keller/Southlake would love to have you join us, even if just for a visit! It's right down I-35. You're in my prayers.

A friend had a similar miserable situation when she was told she wasn't realeased, but that the diocese would "find something for her." Meanwhile, another really cool place was courting her, but she couldn't take the position. After she refused it and it was filled, the bishop THEN said she was released. BTW, she was 5 months pregnant through all of this nonsense. She ended up finding something, but it seemed so damned sadistic. So why do you have to wait 18months? Is that the next round of ordinations or something? What am I missing here?
