No - I am not acting out - the Worrier is ill - sinus infection & his asthma is active. I had a fun dinner last night with my study group - we're all getting ready to intern/graduate & the one who has already graduated was back in town for Minister's Week at the school. It was fun to catch up with my Methodist co-horts!! I got home late & went to my bed only to find the Worrier sprawled on my pillow. Hmmm... if I moved him & he went into a lighter sleep, he would start coughing again & wake Mr. Incredible & I would not be able to go to sleep. SO I went to his bed (after nabbing the alarm clock from ManChild's room), adjusted it to my sleep number & went right to sleep... his Christmas gift just keeps on giving!!
On another fun note - for the first time ever an Incredible's Pinewood Derby car not only made it over the finish line, but finished FIRST!! The Worrier's car won for the Bear Den. Now this did not happen without community support. I forgot (even though I'm the Den leader) about this until last Tuesday! I sent out a reminder to the parents & mentioned that ours was not even out of the box... One of the dads took pity on the Worrier and offered to cut the basic shape on his bandsaw - ("hey I'll be happy to cut the shape if he'll trace whatever shape he wants - I have to cut another one for my Bear because his burned in the oven yesterday drying the paint" - I. kid. you. not). I passed off the block of wood on Thursday morning in carpool & got it back Thursday afternoon in carpool. Then the rockin' dad told me that you can melt the lead fishing weights on the stove & pour them into the drill holes in the bottom of the car - COOL! So we came home & melted lead weights... Mr. Incredible came in from work to find a full-blown smelting lab in the kitchen... and was worried that we were taking the advice of someone who had already burned up one car. Fabulous BIL came out on Saturday & assisted the Worrier with the paint job & it was ready to go by 8:30-ish Saturday evening. Not a moment too soon - I kept leaving fingerprints in the paint trying to adjust the wheels do that the car would run straight! It ended up looking good & running smooth - even after we taped a quarter to the back to get it up to weight! I hate these types of projects...someone forgot to remind God that I'm a girly-girl & I ended up with boyz...I ruined my nails & told the Worrier that he owes me a manicure... but it was good that we finally did one well - with a lotta help from our friends!!

Congrats on the Win! Yeah!
Congrats. manBoy always faired well in this event. He and G&T did internet research and planned the designs. It was great fun. We never melted the lead weights, but they did route out places for them under the car.
oh, and I want to hear about the sleep number bed sometime. we are having a terrible time getting a mattress that's right for us...!
I completely love that your son asked for a sleep number bed for Christmas. That is just too cool.
